Out with the Old in with the New – Mattress!

I have been recently waking up with low back pain. At first I thought that it could just be because of my monthly period but then I realized that I just had it so that won’t be the reason. I also tried to change my sleeping position, changed my pillow and did some more exercise during the day but it did not really help. I was about to consult a doctor due to the recurring pain when one of my colleagues mentioned that she also experienced the same thing before and surprisingly she found out that it was due to a bad mattress. Then it hit me, I never really replace my mattress ever since I started living on my own and that’s already ten years ago.

Bad Mattress

Research shows that one of the many reasons for lower back pain would be a bad mattress. According to healthline:

If poor sleeping posture isn’t the cause of your back pain, it could very well be your mattress. Switching out your old mattresses for a new one can greatly improve your sleep. According to a 2009 study, switching out mattresses older than nine years for newer ones can improve sleep quality, reduce back discomfort, and reduce stress symptoms.

There are a lot of ways to determine if your mattress is no longer good and below is one of them:

Buying a mattress online

It made a lot of sense that my back pain is due to my old mattress hence I really wanted to buy a new one in the most convenient way for me. Since I have been very busy at work I have a very limited time to visit a physical store since when I get out of the office, the stores are already closed. I also had to work during the weekends due to the nature or my job and as I live alone at the moment it would really be difficult for me to go to a mattress shop / malls to buy a new one. Fortunately we now have an option to buy a mattress online.

Sure there are numerous pros and cons in buying a mattress online but of course you can always find ways to make sure what you are buying is a legitimate product. Aside from convenience one major thing that attracted me to buy online is the price. According to sleep.org:

You will typically pay 15 percent less online, compared with in-store (sometimes less than half the retail price!). And many websites offer easy returns. Website retailers know that customers will want to test out a mattress, so some include things like 90-day free trials as a way to convince customers that it’s a low-risk transaction.

For people like me, it is really convenient and efficient to buy a mattress online. Aside from it’s cheaper there are also a lot of choices to choose from, it’s easier to compare, there are a lot of reviews to read from, there’s no pressure and no haggling and you can take your sweet time in choosing.

It was a good move for me as I found what I was really looking for through https://mattressbattle.com. It has an unbiased review, a very informative site and everything that I needed to know was there so I never really hard a hard time to look for my new mattress.
