What doing the reader survey has taught me so far

Let me begin by saying a gigantic thank you to everyone who's already participated in the reader survey! For those of you who are just hearing about this, I opened a survey for all readers of The Midheaven over the weekend. Everyone who participates gets entered to win a free consult with me. (Only one entry per person, please!)

It's been an honor and a pleasure to meet every one of you. The Midheaven been online for three years, and I'm taking your advice to heart as I continue on this journey. Here's what doing the reader survey has taught me so far:

You're grown women.

A whopping 94.6% of you identify as female! Your average age is 32, with the vast majority of you aged between 25 and 35. This age group is prime Saturn Return territory, which explains why so many of you have come to me for Saturn Return readings! I'm in my Saturn Return too, so we're in this together.

I feel like we're in that "old enough to know better, young enough not to care" phase of life. We know in our bones (also ruled by Saturn) that this is such a pivotal time, and sometimes the responsibility feels like too much. Career, money, realizing your own mortality - it's tough. When it starts to bear down on you, come visit me. It's my sincere hope that something here will not only be able to lift your spirits, but will also help you show Saturn who's boss!

You're either OG readers, or new to the site.

A third of you have been reading The Midheaven for a year or more, which is amazing. Thank you for sticking by me through the many ups and downs of this crazy blogging life.

What's even more amazing to me is that the majority of you have been readers for a few months or less! So, welcome new people! I'm glad you're here.

What this means for you is that you'll see a Start Here page with some guidance on how to get started in The Midheaven universe go up very soon. I'll also do my best to post plenty of personal tidbits to Instagram (my favorite microblogging tool) so you can get to know me a bit better. If there's anything in particular you want to know, feel free to email me and perhaps I can turn it into a blog post!

You're pretty confident in astrology and tarot, but want to improve your magical practices.

The vast majority of you fell into the Devotee category for astrology and tarot - that is, you know your sun/moon/rising signs and basic card meanings, but are still working out the fine details of both.

A great many of you are also tarot bloggers and/or professional tarot readers! This means more advanced content will be posted going forward - which is exciting for me, because I adore getting really in-depth.

What came as a surprise was that most of you chose the Neophyte category for magic - that is, you're fascinated by the sacred arts, but you still have lots to learn. (An aside: don't we all?) As such, I'll be sharing more mystical thoughts, practices, and how-to's on the blog for the remainder of the year.

You're definitely not straight.

The majority of my readership identifies as something other than heterosexual. So do I. Your answers blew me away with their thoughtfulness and general hilarity, ranging everywhere from "tragically straight" to "queer AF".

To the person who asked me, "Why does this matter, my darling?": because I want to serve my readers. I'm tired of assumptive articles telling women to look at their Mars signs for their ideal male partner (or vice versa), and it's time we embraced a more holistic method for synastry.

My new series, The Chemistry Lab, will provide an inclusive look at sensual astrology, honoring the lineage of traditional astrology while exploring alternative approaches to sexuality in the birth chart. I'm really excited about it and I hope that it allows all of you to feel seen, heard, and loved for exactly who you are.

You're on a budget.

The survey revealed that you're students, small business owners, and young professionals trying to make ends meet - not the one percent. As such, it makes sense that the overwhelming majority of you are focused on your second and tenth houses right now - that's wealth and career, respectively. What's more, you also said these were your biggest sources of frustration.

Thank you for telling me that you need more accessible services and products. The price of Elemental Astrology has been drastically reduced - it will still come with the 93 page PDF, one question reading, and email support but no audio. On the Readings page, you'll notice that I've broken the individual consultations out into separate - and more affordable - services. Finally, you asked for it - tarot is back!

If you want to learn more about what your specific natal chart says about both, the Astro-Intensive: Prosperity reading explores your most auspicious approach to money and business. I'll also be blogging about the astrology of prosperity for those who aren't in a position to purchase a reading.

Once again, my deepest appreciation to everyone who has already participated and who has supported The Midheaven over the years! If you haven't submitted yet, you can participate at the link below until the Libra lunar eclipse (March 23). After that, the winner will be notified by email.
